Giving of Yourself
Truly successful people all understand that giving is a gift. We all have opportunities to give of our time or our money, but on a few special occasions, we have a chance to give of ourselves. My latest book, 100 Worst Employees: Learning from the Very Worst How to be Your Very Best, has just been released in bookstores and online outlets around the world, but I would like to give you—along with any of your friends, family members, or colleagues—the Kindle e-version of my new book absolutely free of charge. You can access your free book via this link https://amzn.to/2NzPnEa and share the link with your friends, colleagues, and loved ones who can benefit from this message.
Whether you are an entrepreneur, climbing the corporate ladder, or just someone who wants to have a better life, this book will be a powerful tool for you. I want to thank my co-author, Kristine Sexter, and my publisher, Dave Wildasin along with his colleagues at Sound Wisdom, for making this unique offer possible.
I hope you will accept our gift, share it with others, and make the commitment today to find ways to give of yourself in the future. As many readers of this weekly Winners’ Wisdom column know, last week we had the ribbon-cutting ceremony at The Stovall Center for Entrepreneurship. Many of my friends, family members, and countless readers around the world sent their congratulations and best wishes, but my mentor and friend Steve Forbes took the ribbon-cutting as an occasion to give of himself. Here’s the video Mr. Forbes put together for our special event: https://vimeo.com/355615168/2d7dfc3311.
Anytime someone gives us anything, we should be grateful, but when someone gives a piece of themselves, it is truly impactful and memorable. Early in my adult life and career, I had a lot of time and no money, so my giving took the form of volunteering my effort and energy to projects or causes that mattered to me. More recently, with a degree of success, I have a lot of money and no time, so I find myself writing checks to donate to organizations and causes that matter to me.
Whether you’re at the stage of your life where you’re giving time or money, always look for occasions when you can give a part of yourself. Something as simple as a home cooked meal, a handwritten note, or something born out of your own creative talents will provide the most benefit and longest lasting impact.
More than anything I do, I pour my efforts and energy into my books. I hope you and those who you care about will accept my gift of 100 Worst Employees: Learning from the Very Worst How to be Your Very Best and use it to improve your world so that you can find new and expanded ways to give of yourself.
As you go through your day today, continue to give your time and money, but always look for chances to give of yourself.
Today’s the day!
