The Power of the Page
Several times each year I go through the agonizing and exhilarating process of conceiving, developing, and giving birth to a new book. With over 40 books published to date and several more in the pipeline, you might think that my team and I have grown accustomed to the process. This is definitely not the case.
It is still a struggle to come up with ideas that I believe are worthy of people around the world investing their time and money in my book. Books have given me many of the great experiences and opportunities I have had in my life. People often wonder how I met and developed friendships with iconic figures such as Steve Forbes, John Wooden, Jack Nicklaus, and many others. Ironically, those friends and mentors came to me after they read my books and got in contact with me.
Whether you’re reading or writing a book, the printed page can be the key that unlocks the door to a bigger and brighter new world. It’s never been easier nor more important to become an avid reader. Thanks to electronic books and audio books, most people around the world have easy access to an unlimited number of titles as close as their phone.
In any surveys or studies of highly impactful, accomplished men and women, the evidence is clear that one of the factors that successful people have in common that separates them from ordinary individuals is the fact that they are voracious readers. Here in the 21st century, we don’t get paid for what we do, we get paid for what we know. The rapid rate of technological advancement and the accompanying information makes it imperative that we all become life-long readers and learners.
Simply acquiring knowledge, however, will not make you successful unless you apply it in the real world. This takes motivation and a positive mindset. Once again, books offer a quick and easy solution. The greatest minds that have ever lived and the greatest motivators in the field of human development are ready, willing, and able to impact your life within the pages of a book.
If you’ve ever wanted to write a book, there has never been a better time. Amazon Direct and a number of other publishing platforms make it possible for anybody to translate their thoughts into the written word and distribute the message around the world. Whether you’re reading or writing, books should be a part of your future.
As you go through your day today, remember the power of the page.
Today’s the day!
